MAHNUM TORU

Mahnum Toru comes with a deep understanding of the culinary arts through technical experience and the world of academia. She graduated with a distinction at the International Center for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai, where she studied Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) Hot Kitchen and Patisserie and IVQ Level II in Food Production & the Culinary Arts, all accredited by the City & Guilds in London. She has been part of several events in the UAE, including the Chef Tech arena at the Expo Centre Sharjah, Taste of Abu Dhabi – OSN Chef’s Theatre and The Cookery School.
She has a BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Middlesex University, UK, where her main focus was on heritage and sustainable tourism, particularly in relation to exploring its role in the production of memory and identity.
In Pakistan, Mahnum began her hospitality career at The Serena Hotel in Islamabad, where she held a variety of diverse roles, such as working in the operations team of the food and beverage side of the hotel, restaurant management, menu engineering, event management and menu consultancy.
Keeping food as her main focus, she continues to look at ways to tie it in with local sustainable tourism and celebrating her country’s unique heritage.
