Hashoo School of Hospitality Management (HSHM) was launched by Hashoo Group in collaboration with Sheffield Business School of Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), United Kingdom.
HSHM is Pakistan’s first premier hospitality and tourism management school. After having studied for two years at HSHM, qualifying students will have the option to study the third academic year at Sheffield Hallam University and graduating with one of the following Sheffield Hallam Degrees: BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Business Management, BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Business Management (Culinary Arts), BSc (Hons) International Hotel Management, and BSc (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Business Management.
Leading the hospitality industry for over four decades, Hashoo Group owns and operates the five-star Pearl-Continental Hotels, Marriott Hotels, PC Legacy and the Hotel One and brands in Pakistan. The Group is also in the process of launching four new five-star Pearl-Continental Hotels in Hayatabad, Mirpur, and Multan this year.
In addition to investing in infrastructure, Hashoo Group also realises the significance of investing in human capital development. The travel and tourism industry are right now growing and becoming a key global economic driver. In 2018, the World Travel and Tourism Council Report stated that the travel industry contributed 10.4 percent of the global GDP and creates one in 10 jobs (9.9 percent of global employment). In fact, in the last decade, one in five of all global net jobs have been associated with this sector. The travel and tourism sector are forecasted to rise in the next decade, faster than all other sectors.
As one of the only four schools worldwide that have EPAS and AACSB accreditation for undergraduate programmes in hospitality and tourism. Sheffield Business School’s mission is to deliver education and research that is informed and enriched by their relationship with the industry, business, and the community.
Located in Sheffield, the business school has worked with more than 3,500 businesses to develop courses and provide more than 19,000 placements every year. The school is also one of the founding members of the Northern Consortium (NCUK) and has offices in China, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan. It is dedicated to developing links between higher education and global businesses. Recently, Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) has awarded the status of “ITT Centre of Excellence” accolade to SHU.
